The Silver Pear | Shopping
Once described as the only place to shop in Shropshire. The Silver Pear is a stunning store filled with contemporary design-led products.
The Silver Pear is something of a Ludlow institution; spread over two floors of a characterful half timbered 13th Century building on picturesque Broad Street they stock a huge range of products.
You will often see their distinctive pale blue and white shopping bags being toted around the town, carried by customers who have bought from their selection of gifts, fashion and contemporary interior products.
Broad Street has not always been the home of The Silver Pear; in 1999 Janet Tuffley and her husband Christopher opened the shop on Corve Street before moving to their current location in 2004.
The Silver Pear has brought distinctive ranges and suppliers to Ludlow including Alessi, Orla Kiely, Joseph Joseph and Coeur d’Lion. The range of stock also includes local suppliers who Janet has taken on and given the benefit of exposure in her award winning shop – in 2010 it was crowned one of the Independent Retailer of The Year and in 2013 it appeared in Country Living’s list of essential Ludlow shops.
The Silver Pear runs a wedding list service, has its own webstore, is open seven days a week and has gifts suitable for all ages.
