Nina & Co | Shopping
Nina & Co is a diverse collective of dealers selling decorative antiques, vintage fashion, jewellery and accessories, as well as textiles, pictures and books.
For ten years Nina Hely-Hutchinson and a group of experienced vintage dealers traded from 55 Mill Street, with an enthusiastic following for its extraordinary range of vintage clothing and decorative furniture and objects, In 2021, the shop moved to a fine 17th century building in Church Street and became Nina & Co.
Since we arrived there, customers have consistently told us how much they love coming in. Nineteen dealers trade across three floors – Decorative Antiques on the ground floor (dealers; Nikki Hamblin, Upper Track and mid-century from Sixth Link). We have sited our Vintage Fashion Room in the merchant’s 1698 oak-panelled parlour on the first floor.
Nina and five other experienced dealers offer fashion from the 1920s to the 1980s. The huge, high quality stock draws vintage fans from all over the West Midlands. Beneath the chunky beams of the top floor we show a good range of Men’s vintage, brocante, books and ceramics. We have also created the Stairwell Gallery showing works of solo artists on the walls of the broad staircase between the ground and first floors, giving customers another reason to come back.
Nina has always loved fashion since she was a small girl in pigtails. When she was a teenager, her Danish mother encouraged her to make her own clothes; she studied fashion at university, and even completed a Masters degree at Oxford in Material Ethnology (the study of clothing to the rest of us).
She started her career as a conservator at Hampton Court Palace where she looked after the extensive royal collection of garments and textiles housed in the Royal Palaces., After moving to mid-Wales she became a curator at Brecon Museum, and then Hereford. Living in Ludlow, she decided to use her passion and knowledge of vintage fashion to start her business.
“Vintage fashion - if you love style that cares about Gaia.”
